Master P, Mike Epps to team for autumn Red Rocks concert

NDIANAPOLIS — Hometown hero Mike Epps is bringing the ultimate free concert event to the near northeast side of Indianapolis.

The comedian and actor is hosting Mike Epps’ Community Concert from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Frederick Douglass Park, located at 1616 E. 25th St.

The free concert event is focused on supporting the positive impacts of art and culture on mental health and wellbeing, especially in the Black community. Performers include Stokely, formerly of Mint Condition; Donell Jones; and Full Force.

“I thought maybe I’d bring some joy to the city, bring the morale up and give it to the people. And make sure they have a good time,” Epps said.

Growing up not too far from downtown Indianapolis, the comedian and actor is well aware of some of the issues the city faces.

“I’ve always had a passion and a love for my hometown. No matter where I travel and go, my heart is always still in Indianapolis,” said Epps.
